On 27 March 2026, learners from Oasis Infant School in Vengere, Rusape (BC 806) embarked on an exciting and educational trip to the Mutare Museum, creating a memorable day of discovery, fun, and practical learning.
The journey began with departure from school at 08:10 AM, and the group arrived safely in Mutare at 09:45 AM. Before entering the museum, learners enjoyed a short recreational moment on a jumping castle, which created a joyful and relaxed atmosphere and prepared them for the learning experience ahead.
Inside the museum, learners from ECD A to Grade 1 were introduced to Zimbabwe’s rich history and cultural heritage. They explored exhibits showcasing the country’s independence journey, indigenous crops, traditional methods of grinding mealie-meal, early household utensils, hunting tools, forms of transport used in the past, and a variety of wildlife displays. This hands-on experience helped learners connect classroom knowledge with real-life history in a meaningful way.
The visit encouraged curiosity, confidence, and appreciation of heritage as learners observed how life was lived in earlier generations. Many were especially fascinated by the wildlife exhibits, which strengthened their understanding of Zimbabwe’s natural environment and biodiversity.
After the museum tour, learners enjoyed lunch at Mimach Restaurant before departing Mutare at 15:30 PM. The group arrived back safely at school at 16:55 PM, marking the end of a successful and well-organized educational outing.
